Morgan Gibbs-White fined after Range Rover ran red light in West Bridgford

Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White was ordered to pay fines after his Range Rover was filmed passing a red traffic light on Radcliffe Road in West Bridgford, Nottinghamshire at 15:17 GMT on 28 January. The 26-year-old was handed a £1,000 court bill and convicted of failing to provide the identity of a driver after not responding to police correspondence.
Court documents state Gibbs-White failed to reply to two police letters asking him to confirm whether he had been driving at the time of the offence, and he was convicted last Tuesday of failing to provide the identity of a driver. A court official said Gibbs-White did not enter a plea or mitigation and was sentenced behind closed doors under the fast-track Single Justice Procedure. Nottinghamshire Police issued the initial alert when investigating the traffic light incident.
Police camera footage recorded the vehicle entering the junction 1.1 seconds after the lights had turned red, with the camera recording the incident on Radcliffe Road at 15:17 GMT on 28 January. "At the time of the offence, the vehicle was captured failing to comply with a red light signal, the time into the red light was recorded as 1.1 seconds," a police worker wrote in her statement.
During the investigation officers found the number plate registered with the DVLA differed by one letter from the plate displayed on the vehicle, prompting a force alert. Staffordshire Police stopped the Range Rover in April and confirmed it belonged to Gibbs-White.
At Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court he was fined £660, given six penalty points on his licence and ordered to pay £120 in costs and a £264 victim surcharge. The conviction followed the court process held under the Single Justice Procedure, according to court papers.
Gibbs-White was banned from driving for six months in May last year after being caught speeding six times over a three-month period and was ordered at that time to pay just under £4,000 in fines. The red light conviction adds to that previous driving-related enforcement.
Gibbs-White signed for Nottingham Forest in 2022 from Wolverhampton Wanderers, earned his first England cap in 2024 and has made 10 appearances for his country; he was also called up to Thomas Tuchel's recent England squad for the Nations League.
