Morocco v Ghana preview: Tangier friendly, team news and prediction

Morocco will face Ghana in an international friendly at the Grand Stadium of Tangier during the first international break of the 2026-27 season. The match is scheduled as part of the opening international window of the 2026-27 campaign.

The Atlas Lions arrive having recorded consecutive 2-0 victories over Gabon and Lesotho. They followed up on their best-ever World Cup campaign in 2022 with a run to the quarterfinals of the competition in 2026. Ghana have lost back-to-back Africa Cup of Nations qualifying games against Ivory Coast and Gambia. The Black Stars were knocked out by Colombia in the Round of 32 of the FIFA World Cup.

The Real Madrid winger is Morocco’s superstar and arguably their most important player. He is quick, intelligent, and hard-working. After a disastrous penalty incident during the AFCON 2025 finals, Brahim Diaz had a great outing during the 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign.

Felix Afena-Gyan is performing very well for his nation on an individual level despite being on the losing side in the last two games. He is versatile and can play either as a focal point of the attack or as a left winger. This makes him difficult to mark and allows Felix to make an impact in the final third.

Both teams have no injuries. They have fully fit squads available at their disposal. Bono(GK); Ouahdi, Diop, Boudlal, Mazraoui; Targhalline, El Aynaoui; Díaz, Ounahi, Khannouss, Saibari Asare(GK); Oppong, Adjetey, Opoku, Mensah; Nuamah, Sibo, Yirenkyi; Issahaku. Thomas-Asante, Afena-Gyan

The last game between these two teams ended in a 3-0 win for Ghana. As of now, there is no official streaming partner or broadcaster announced for this game in India.

Morocco are an incredible side with much better squad depth compared to Ghana. Therefore, they will be our pick to win this game.
