MS Dhoni was spotted at Bengaluru airport wearing a black mask and walking with heavy security, days after he attended the Ambani family's Navratri Mela in Jamnagar. A video of the sighting circulated on social media.

The 45-year-old was dressed in blue jeans and a white polo T-shirt with a backpack slung over his shoulder. He attended the Navratri event at the Reliance Greens township in Jamnagar with his wife, Sakshi Dhoni. The airport clip attracted attention online.

Dhoni has not yet announced his plans for the next Indian Premier League season. The Chennai Super Kings veteran missed the entire IPL 2026 season because of calf and finger injuries.

The Chennai Super Kings retained Dhoni for ₹4 crore as an uncapped player ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. During IPL 2025, he assumed interim captaincy after regular skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad suffered an elbow injury.

CSK endured a difficult IPL 2026 campaign, failing to qualify for the playoffs and finishing eighth in the points table with six wins and eight defeats from 14 matches. The five-time champions missed the playoffs for three straight seasons.

The franchise has said it must address batting and bowling problems before IPL 2027 and will need to select players at the auction to strengthen the squad. Dhoni’s availability for the next season remains unclear and he has not made an official announcement about his IPL 2027 plans.

CSK will head into the auction and pre-season planning with the stated objective of returning to the playoffs ahead of IPL 2027.
