Mumbai City FC lost 3-2 to SC Delhi at the Mumbai Football Arena in an Indian Super League match on November 1, 2026, surrendering a 2-0 first-half lead before conceding three late goals after the 70th minute and dropping all points.

Mumbai had opened a two-goal advantage in the first half through assists from Noufal PN, who set up Muhammad Ajsal and then Zothanpuia, but the Islanders were playing with an eleven depleted by injuries. Five of Mumbai’s front six — their midfield and attacking unit — were Indian players in the lineup. The defeat leaves them off to a rocky start in the ISL campaign.

Noufal PN was the catalyst for Mumbai’s early control, capitalising on mistakes by Lamgoulen Hamshing and Mohamed Azhar to create the two goals that put the home side ahead. Although his impact diminished in the second half, the winger continued to pose a threat with his pace and crossing ability.

SC Delhi’s head coach Tomasz Tchorz responded by making multiple substitutions that changed the game’s momentum; four of his five substitutes contributed to Delhi’s three-goal turnaround. Players introduced from the bench, including Carlos Fortes, Akshat Mehra and Ashutosh Rana, added pace and aggression that unsettled Mumbai’s defence.

Akash Mishra and his teammates, who had contained Delhi earlier, were unable to cope with the renewed intensity after the changes, and Mumbai’s efforts to slow the game after the 70th minute failed to stop the comeback. Carlos Pena, who had been largely ineffectual until then, produced a solo strike described in coverage as a stunning effort to seal the victory for Delhi.

Manolo Marquez left the pitch visibly frustrated after the final whistle. The loss compounds Mumbai City’s early-season struggles and will increase scrutiny around the side as they attempt to recover in the league.

The defeat drops Mumbai City into 11th place in the ISL standings, leaving the club to address form and injuries as they seek points in their upcoming fixtures.
