Musiala collapses again during Bayern friendly at Heidenheim

Jamal Musiala collapsed and was helped off the pitch eight minutes after coming on as a substitute in Bayern Munich's 4-2 friendly win at Heidenheim on Tuesday, the second collapse he has experienced within four days. Bayern have said Musiala will "speak out" about the incidents.
Match reports stated the episode at Heidenheim occurred six minutes after Musiala came off the bench in the 4-2 friendly victory, during which the 23-year-old appeared dazed while receiving medical treatment and was helped from the field. The Tuesday incident followed a collapse on Saturday during Bayern's 3-1 friendly win over RB Leipzig in Munich.
Bayern Munich and Heidenheim players surrounded Musiala as he received treatment on Tuesday before he was assisted off the pitch. The club confirmed the episode unfolded during the friendly at Heidenheim and that he required on-field attention.
Bayern sporting director Max Eberl addressed the situation on Tuesday, saying: "Jamal will speak about this in the near future. We knew about it and we are aware of the situation." He added: "Jamal will speak out. He's in the dressing room, getting changed and taking a shower."
Hot conditions were thought to have played a role in Musiala's collapse on Saturday, with the temperature reported in excess of 30C. Musiala missed the first six months of last season after breaking his ankle at the 2025 Club World Cup, returned in the second half of that campaign and started three of Germany's four games at the 2026 World Cup.
Eberl said Musiala will address the matter publicly "in the near future," and the club reported he was in the dressing room following the Heidenheim friendly.
