Naruka and Parinaaz secure mixed skeet bronze at Aichi in Asian Games 2026

India's Anant Jeet Singh Naruka and Parinaaz Dhaliwal won bronze in the mixed team skeet at the Aichi Prefectural General Shooting Gallery on Thursday during the 2026 Asian Games, finishing the final with 44 points after advancing to the medal round as the last qualifiers.

Naruka and Parinaaz progressed to the final with an aggregate qualification score of 138, finishing fourth in qualification and taking the eighth and final spot in the medal round. Their podium finish increased India's shooting medal count at the Games to eight — four silver and four bronze. Both shooters had already claimed bronze in team events earlier at the meet: Naruka with the men's skeet team and Parinaaz with the women's skeet team, meaning the mixed team medal gives each athlete two medals at Aichi-Nagoya.

The mixed final became a high-scoring contest at which China set a new world record, posting 52 points to take gold and bettering the previous record of 47 set by Qatar in January this year; the Chinese pair missed just four shots in the final. South Korea finished with 51 points to earn silver. India held third place to secure bronze behind those two nations.

For Naruka, the results in Aichi-Nagoya add to an existing Asian Games résumé: he won silver in the men's individual skeet and bronze in the men's team event at the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou. His men's team bronze and the mixed team bronze in Aichi-Nagoya bring his total number of Asian Games skeet medals to four.

Parinaaz's campaign included a women's team bronze earlier in the competition, which the report describes as India's first-ever Asian Games medal, before she partnered with Naruka to add the mixed event bronze. India's three skeet medals in Aichi-Nagoya — across the men's, women's and mixed team events — represent the country's best return in the discipline at these Games.

India's men's and women's skeet teams had both won bronze medals on Wednesday, and Naruka and Parinaaz completed the sequence with the mixed team bronze on Thursday. The mixed team result gave India's shooting contingent another podium finish and concluded a productive two days for the country's skeet shooters.

Thursday's mixed team bronze completed a two-medal Asian Games campaign for both Naruka and Parinaaz, leaving each athlete with two medals from Aichi-Nagoya.
