On October 31, 2026, double Olympic medallist Neeraj Chopra told the Sports Authority of India that "My injury is much better now" and that he would restart training and rehabilitation "in the next couple of weeks."

Chopra said he encountered difficulties during the first month and a half after the injury but that his condition has improved. He named Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala as the physician who advised that he could resume training and begin structured rehabilitation, adding, "My plan is to start both in the next couple of weeks." Chopra also stated that he followed his medical team's recommendation of complete rest.

Addressing support structures, Chopra said, "For my injury, the doctors had advised rest, and that is exactly what I followed. With regard to competitions, TOPS (Target Olympic Podium Scheme) and SAI (Sports Authority of India) have been supporting me for years. I have been part of the TOPS Core Group for many years now, and whenever I need any support, they are there," he said.

Chopra welcomed the Union Cabinet's approval of the Khelo India Sports Goods Manufacturing Scheme on October 28 and described the move as positive for athletes. He said, "The Khelo India Sports Goods Manufacturing Scheme, which was approved by the Union Cabinet, is an amazing step. A post shared by Sports Authority of India (@media.iccsai) "Athletes face a lot of issues in procuring certain equipment in India or have to import sporting equipment from abroad. With schemes like these, as equipment will be manufactured in India, it will become much easier for them to source it," he noted.

He extended his good wishes to India's team heading to the Youth Olympic Games and offered advice to the young athletes, saying, "I wish all the best to the athletes heading to the Youth Olympics. Enjoy the experience and don’t take too much pressure or get nervous. "Whatever pressure you face at the Youth Olympics is good for you as it teaches you a lot. Use this opportunity to observe others and channel the pressure to your advantage, and I am sure you will do your best."

The medical timeline points to a competitive return next year; the report states that "Chopra is likely to return to action sometime next year."

Chopra's immediate next step is to commence the prescribed training and rehabilitation within the next couple of weeks as advised by Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala, with the aim of returning to competition sometime next year.
