NetEase unveils Marvel Rivals ‘Infinity War’ phase for Path to Doomsday, set to start October 9, 2026

NetEase has officially revealed the Infinity War phase of Marvel Rivals: Path to Doomsday and said the event will begin on October 9, 2026 as part of the Season 10.5 update; the announcement introduces a limited-time mode built around the six Infinity Stones and the character Thanos. A trailer released with the reveal also teased a separate 50-player PvE raid that the developer says will arrive on October 22, 2026.
The Infinity War phase is presented as the next stage of the Path to Doomsday campaign and is being used to tie into the upcoming Avengers Doomsday release on December 18, 2026. NetEase has said it is focusing this Season 10.5 update on the Path to Doomsday event; the company also noted the season will include only one hero release (Gorr), with two hero releases scheduled to return in the following season. NetEase has not confirmed official timings beyond the announced start dates.
The core Infinity War mode changes the event format from previous Path to Doomsday offerings: 12 players are divided into six teams of two for a fast-paced, 2v2 elimination tournament. Teams are knocked out in successive rounds until a single pair remains victorious.
Gameplay in the mode adds persistent progression within each match by assigning every team one of the six Infinity Stones at the start of a game, each stone providing exclusive powers to shape a team’s build. Between rounds, players can select powerful modifiers that alter abilities, and teams that eliminate opponents can collect additional Infinity Stones to increase their strength as the match progresses.
