Benjamin Satterley, known to AEW fans as PAC and formerly as Neville in WWE, died on September 27, 2026, less than 24 hours after performing at AEW’s All Out pay-per-view event. The death was announced following the pay-per-view and has prompted further reporting on his recent health history.

Satterley was 40 when he died and his family issued a statement on the September 30 edition of AEW Dynamite mourning his passing. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office reported bronchial asthma as the cause of death and classified the death as natural. Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson offered well wishes to the family and issued a special tribute, paying homage to his fellow wrestlers in AEW and WWE despite being in different promotions.

Toronto-based critical care physician Dr. Alex Patel spoke to reporter Dave Meltzer to discuss potential contributing factors, noting that fatal asthma attacks are uncommon. Patel said people who suffer fatal asthma emergencies often have prior asthma-related hospitalizations, and he added there was no indication that Satterley had such a history. He also emphasized that the available medical information is insufficient to determine whether other conditions played a role in Satterley’s death.

According to Meltzer’s reporting cited by the article, Satterley had previously experienced lung-related problems and blood clots, with the blood-clot history reportedly dating back to 2023. Those reported issues were described as possibly influencing how Satterley managed international travel, including spending extended periods in the United States before returning to the United Kingdom instead of undertaking frequent transatlantic flights. The article presents these reported health concerns as contextual details rather than as changes to the official cause of death.

“If you do have underlying blood clots, they can affect the right side of your heart. There is some link between severe asthma attacks, and death, occurring more in people who have underlying heart issues so certainly if the right side of his heart was affected, it could lead them at higher risk for asthmatic complications. Difficult to know, though without a heart or echo report on what his underlying heart function was, and if it was affected by the pulmonary embolism,” Dr. Alex Patel said.

Patel described the scenario as an exceptionally rare occurrence and noted the rapid progression of a severe asthma attack can leave very little time for medical intervention. He added that immediate access to medical personnel might provide an opportunity for treatment but said it is impossible to know whether a different setting would have changed the outcome.

Satterley’s final match took place at AEW All Out on September 26, 2026, when he challenged Andrade El Ídolo for the AEW National Championship; Andrade won the contest.
