New Zealand score 10 tries in comfortable WXV win over Scotland at Hive Stadium
New Zealand defeated Scotland at Hive Stadium in the WXV Global Series on 19 September 2026, running in 10 tries as Scotland suffered a second successive defeat. Evie Gallagher scored two first-half tries for Scotland.
New Zealand opened the match by breaking through the Scottish defence early, with Mo'omo'oga Palu powering over for the first try and Maama Mo'onia Vaipulu following with a second. Chloe Rollie's intercept set Scotland up to force a penalty and, from the resulting line-out, Evie Gallagher crashed over for a close-range try. Justine McGregor and Elinor-Plum King added tries for the visitors, leaving the score 24-14 at one stage.
The Black Ferns continued to dominate possession and territory, setting a tempo Scotland could not match. Layla Sae and Amy Du Plessis then scored before half-time, further extending New Zealand's advantage. The match displayed similar patterns to Scotland's recent defeat by Canada, with Scotland conceding quickly whenever they appeared to regain momentum.
After the break New Zealand pressed on: substitute Amarante Sititi and Tara Turner both crossed the whitewash. Sae completed her brace with what was New Zealand's ninth try. Scotland managed to keep New Zealand from scoring between the 47th minute and the final play.
Alena Saili finished the game with New Zealand's 10th try on the last play.
