Nivia and the Indian national team unveiled a 70-foot jersey in Kolkata ahead of India’s friendly against Uruguay at the VYBK on 6 October 2026. The oversized kit was revealed on Instagram a few hours before the match.

India entered the September–October international window having played friendlies against Panama and Brazil. Against Panama the Blue Tigers drew 1-1 after a 41st-minute goal from Ryan Williams; Omar Valencia levelled for Panama with “a stunning outside-of-the-box shot.” India then lost 4-0 to Brazil, with goals from Estêvão, Pedro & Samuel Lino, a result the report attributed to “individual mistakes.” In the Brazil game India had three shots on target from a total of 12 attempts.

Nivia’s Instagram post that accompanied the 70-foot jersey included four captions, with the first caption explaining the reveal and its intent. That caption read: "More than just a new jersey. It represents a game that keeps moving forward, growing stronger and reaching every corner of the country. The new India football jersey is here and with it, a new chapter for Indian football begins." The post framed the kit as representing a new start for the Blue Tigers while acknowledging India’s football history.

The social-media rollout used hashtags conveying the message "Next is now." The post drew more than 14k likes in under two hours and generated largely positive responses, including numerous fire emojis. One fan wrote: “This should be the tifo for all matches”.

Nivia Sports is the official kit sponsor of the Indian Men’s National Football Team and Khalid Jamil is listed as the head coach. Broadcast arrangements mentioned for recent fixtures include Sony Sports Network holding rights to the India vs Brazil tie, with Sony televising on its HD and SD channels and Sony Liv streaming the game; it is expected that commentary will be available in regional languages as well.

Salt Lake Stadium will host the Uruguay Men’s National Football Team on Saturday, 6 October 2026, with kickoff scheduled for 19:30 IST, and the 70-foot jersey unveiling took place in the hours before that fixture.
