No Indian umpire or technical official at FIH Men's Hockey World Cup for first time in 28 years

For the first time in 28 years, no Indian umpire or technical official will be present at the FIH Men's Hockey World Cup.

Former international umpires described the development as disappointing. They said India needs a better system to produce world-class officials and that more international exposure, financial support and a structured pathway are the need of the hour.
