Ana Barbosu, the Romanian who won bronze in the women's floor final at the Paris 2024 Games, has been banned for two years for three whereabouts failures, with the period of ineligibility commencing on 5 May 2026. The missed anti-doping tests took place between September and December 2025.

The International Testing Agency provisionally suspended Barbosu in May after she failed to attend the three tests; the ITA manages World Gymnastics' anti-doping programme. Barbosu, 20, appealed the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport and CAS, after a hearing in August, upheld the ruling.

Barbosu and World Gymnastics are also parties to a separate CAS case about the Paris bronze she won. The US team requested an inquiry into Jordan Chiles' score in the final, which led to Chiles being temporarily awarded the bronze in place of Barbosu.

CAS later upheld a complaint from the Romanian Olympic Committee that the US team had filed the request too late, and Barbosu's bronze was reinstated. That procedural ruling reversed the earlier change to the medal positions.

The dispute over the Paris bronze remains unresolved, and media coverage has noted that gymnast Chiles could get the Paris bronze medal back. The separate proceedings have further hearings scheduled.

The next hearing in the medal dispute will not take place before May 2027, leaving the final disposition of the Paris 2024 women's floor bronze pending until then.
