One Piece-themed chest appears on Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 island ahead of Story Moment Event

Epic Games may be collaborating with One Piece after a large One Piece-themed chest appeared on the Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 island ahead of the upcoming Story Moment Event on October 19, 2026. For now, the chest cannot be opened or interacted with by players.

The chest currently functions as a teaser rather than an in-game loot source, with only its front exposed and no way to open, damage, or destroy it. The exposed front carries a Jolly Roger with a pirate motif, and the visible materials include purple wood, gold trim and gemstones. The design has prompted speculation among fans that it may connect to Gol D. Roger and the infamous One Piece treasure.

Players locating the object will find it east of Sunken Shores and south of Mega Maze on the Chapter 7 Season 4 map; its large size makes it noticeable from a distance. The feature is not interactive at present and does not contain exclusive rewards, weapons, or loot. The chest is part of a phased Story Moment Event on the island rather than a standard playable container.

A tweeted teaser lists audio cues associated with the chest, indicating it will emit specific sounds when approached: ONE PIECE x FORTNITE Chest Teaser will play the following sounds when near it:– Seagull Calls – 0:00– Magic Gong Tone – 0:44– Magic Glass Tone – 2:05– Japanese Wood Creak – 2:53– Golden Chime – 3:52– Mysterious Wind – 6:05

Community discussion has centred on the chest’s appearance and those audio elements, with players noting its scale and pirate-themed styling. According to the latest leaks, the chest will become more interactive later this week and is expected to play several songs in rotation.

According to those leaks, the chest’s interactivity rollout is scheduled for later this week as part of the ongoing phased Story Moment Event, with no confirmed in-game loot available at present.
