Fulham beat Coventry 1-0 at Coventry in a Premier League match on 24 October 2026 after Oscar Bobb’s 80th-minute strike.

It was Bobb’s first Premier League goal for Fulham and his second goal for the club since his £27m move from Manchester City in January. The victory lifted Álvaro Arbeloa’s side clear of the relegation zone and ended a run of eight away matches without a win. Both teams had started the day inside the bottom three of the table, and Fulham’s previous away win dated back to February, a week after they beat Hull 1-0 to end a winless start to the season.

Bobb produced the decisive moment with a piece of individual skill, twisting into the area and bending a shot into the far corner in the 80th minute. That strike proved enough to separate two sides who produced limited quality for long spells. Fulham managed to convert their superiority into a single goal while Coventry struggled to create sustained pressure.

The visitors threatened earlier when Josh King was afforded space in the box in the 18th minute, his powerful effort rebounding off the crossbar before Alex Iwobi sent the loose ball high and wide. Coventry’s possession was intermittent and the home side rarely troubled Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno during a frustrating afternoon for the hosts’ supporters.

Coventry had several near opportunities of their own: Bobby Thomas met Jack Rudoni’s free-kick but headed well wide, and Brandon Thomas-Asante missed from Jay Dasilva’s cross after a good Rudoni run. A mis-hit back pass from Antonee Robinson presented Thomas-Asante with another chance, but his effort lacked power and Leno collected comfortably.

A low cross from Antonee Robinson deflected off Milan van Ewijk and struck the side-netting, avoiding an own-goal for Coventry. Just before half-time Calvin Bassey went down in the box claiming a shirt-pull from Thomas-Asante, but referee Adam Herczeg waved play on after a VAR check. Early in the second half VAR reviewed a Rudoni free-kick that struck Iwobi on the arm, with play again allowed to continue.

Coventry suffered a setback when the in-form forward Thomas hobbled off just before the hour and was replaced by the teenage Manchester City loanee Stephen Mfuni. The hosts showed signs of building momentum following a series of substitutions, but Bobb’s goal ended that period of pressure with 10 minutes remaining. Coventry pressed for a reply; Matt Grimes had a powerful strike blocked and a late penalty appeal for handball against Shea Charles was rejected with Charles’s arm tucked in.

The result moved Fulham clear of the relegation zone, while Frank Lampard’s Coventry sit second-bottom of the Premier League table.
