Panghal rallies past Uzbek world champion Erkinboev to reach Asian Games gold-medal bout

Ankush Panghal came from behind to defeat Uzbek world champion Fazliddin Erkinboev in a semifinal at the Asian Games on September 29, 2026, to reach the gold-medal bout.

He lost the first round, narrowly clinched the second, then took control of the final round to secure a unanimous decision in his favour.

Parveen Hooda convincingly defeated Li Shu to advance to the finals.
