Pathirage edges Chopra by 9cm at Lausanne Diamond League, beats him for third time this season

Rumesh Tharanga Pathirage edged Neeraj Chopra by nine centimetres to beat him for the third time this season at the Lausanne Diamond League on August 21, 2026.
Chopra briefly led with an 88.05m second-round throw, but Pathirage responded with 88.14m; Chopra settled for silver while Anderson Peters finished third.
The result boosted Chopra’s hopes of reaching the Diamond League Final.
