The Pakistan Cricket Board on October 8 confirmed the schedule for the 12th edition of the Pakistan Super League, setting a March 18, 2027 start and a May 2, 2027 final. The board said the announced window gives all eight franchises a clear timeframe to prepare for the tournament.

The 2027 edition will be the league's 12th and will continue with eight teams following expansion in 2026. Hyderabad Kingsmen and Rawalpindiz joined the competition in 2026, and that season replaced the previous draft system with a player auction. The 2026 final saw Peshawar Zalmi defeat Hyderabad Kingsmen by five wickets at Gaddafi Stadium on May 3, 2026.

PCB officials reached the decision on the dates after consultations with owners and representatives of all eight franchises, and the board said the tournament will run for more than six weeks. The confirmation provides a defined window for logistical planning across the franchises and organizers.

The eight teams confirmed to take part in PSL 2027 are Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, Multan Sultans, Peshawar Zalmi, Quetta Gladiators, Hyderabad Kingsmen and Rawalpindiz.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi commented on the move, saying: "HBL PSL 11 showed the world what this league is capable of – thrilling moments that had the whole nation transfixed, record crowds, record broadcasts. HBL PSL 12 will raise the bar further." He further stated that the PCB is committed to hosting another spectacular season and expects strong performances from all eight franchises.

Peshawar Zalmi enter PSL 2027 as defending champions after ending a nine-year wait for the PSL trophy in 2026. That title win will frame their campaign as they seek to retain the championship during the 12th edition.

PSL 2027 is scheduled to begin on March 18, 2027, with the final set for May 2, 2027.
