Persona 4 Revival new story trailer unveiled at Xbox Gamescom 2026

ATLUS and SEGA revealed a new story trailer for Persona 4 Revival during Xbox Gamescom 2026, giving viewers another look at the remake. The trailer introduces protagonist Yu Narukami and confirms the return of the Midnight Channel.
P-STUDIO Director Kazuhisa Wada offered development insight during the event, saying the team is balancing the original game's nostalgia with modern elements. The trailer presents Yu Narukami as a teenager who relocates to the quiet town of Inaba, which soon becomes the centre of investigation after a series of unexplained incidents. It reiterates the Midnight Channel urban myth — rumoured that those who look into televisions at midnight can catch a glimpse of another world of danger, supernatural creatures and hidden truths. As the strange occurrences intensify in the story, players will enter that alternate reality to investigate the disappearances.
Microsoft followed the showcase with a developer breakdown that featured Kazuhisa Wada discussing the remake's audience and design goals. According to him, this remake is designed to appeal to both old-time fans and new fans who want to get into the Persona franchise. He said the remake will remain faithful and it features upgraded visuals, modern presentation, and various quality-of-life improvements to match the current modern remake.
The new trailer focuses on Persona 4 Revival's central mystery in Inaba, highlighting story scenes featuring the protagonist alongside updated visuals. It offers narrative context for the investigation-driven gameplay and re-establishes the Midnight Channel as a core plot device.
ATLUS and SEGA have set the game's release for February 18, 2027, on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC, PlayStation 5, and Steam. The title supports Xbox Play Anywhere, allowing continuity of progress across supported Xbox platforms.
Earlier coverage linked from the showcase noted that in-game cutscenes will be animated by the studio behind Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man.
