Pietersen says consultant role behind decision not to travel to Pakistan with England

Kevin Pietersen said on X on October 31, 2026 that he did not travel to Pakistan with the England cricket team for the Pakistan tour.

He clarified he missed the tour because he works as a consultant rather than a full-time employee and added he would not accompany the team on every assignment.

Pietersen was appointed England’s white-ball mentor earlier this year and his stint is set to continue until the 2027 ODI World Cup.
