PKL season 13 expected to begin in late December 2026, possible dates revealed

Pro Kabaddi League organisers and franchises are expected to kick off the 13th edition in late December 2026, according to Khel Now sources. The report lists potential start dates and lays out the scheduling sequence that would follow the international calendar.

The international kabaddi schedule places the Asian Games in September and the Commonwealth Kabaddi Championship in October, events in which the Indian kabaddi team will take part as they fight for the gold medal. Several nations have already started training camps in preparation. The previous Pro Kabaddi season concluded in October 2025, and initial rumours that PKL 13 might begin in May or June were set aside as international commitments landed later in the year.

Khel Now reports the PKL 13 auction is likely to be held in mid-October, with an expected window of October 18th to 25th. Following the auction, teams are expected to complete player releases and retentions before bidding for new signings.

December is being viewed as the probable window for PKL 13, with the league said to be “almost certain” to begin in late December and run for around two months. The possible opening dates cited are December 25, 26 and 27.

Fans will face three major kabaddi tournaments in succession over the coming months — the Asian Games, the Commonwealth Kabaddi Championship and the Pro Kabaddi League — and PKL franchises will monitor player fitness closely because of that continuous schedule.
