Pranavi Urs aims to take Asian Games momentum to Hero Women’s Indian Open in Gurugram

On October 21, 2026 in Gurugram, Pranavi Urs will attempt to carry her Asian Games confidence into the 2026 Hero Women’s Indian Open at the DLF Golf and Country Club. The 23-year-old, who secured the Asian Games gold with a final-shot victory and became the first Indian woman to win that title, is one of four Indian Ladies European Tour players in the field.
The $500,000 Hero Women’s Indian Open, described in coverage as the marquee event for women’s golf in the country, features five former winners among its entrants and is scheduled to run over the next four days at the DLF Golf and Country Club. Organisers expect a strong international field that will present a stern test for Indian players seeking breakthrough results.
Pranavi arrives as the recently crowned Asian Games champion and is joined by her team-bronze-winning compatriots Diksha Dagar and Aditi Ashok; Aditi remains the only Indian to have won this event, doing so in 2016. Pranavi finished fourth in the tournament last year and is among the LET representatives from India alongside Aditi, Diksha and Hitaashee Bakshi; Hitaashee was third the previous year after slipping on the final day.
Defending champion Shannon Tan, one of the five former winners in the field, completed a come-from-behind one-stroke victory over Alice Hewson in 2025 and placed third in Aichi-Nagoya. Tan is expected to test herself again on the challenging DLF course as she seeks to add to her record at the event.
Other former champions competing include England’s Liz Young (2024), Germany’s Olivia Cowan (2022), Camille Chevalier (2017) and Thailand’s Pornanong Phatlum, who is a three-time winner and listed among the 10 sponsor invitees. The line-up also features former LET Order of Merit winners Chiara Tamburlini of Switzerland and Trichat Cheenglab of Thailand.
Recent-season winners in the draw are Eleanor Givens of England, Thailand’s Aunchisa Utama, Germany’s Leonie Harm and France’s Agathe Laisné, while Indian players Avani Prashanth and Vani Kapoor return after finishing among the top-10 the last time the event was held.
The tournament will be contested over four days at DLF Golf and Country Club, and Pranavi Urs has been paired with Shannon Tan and Camille Chevalier for the first two rounds.
