Pranavi Urs has been named to receive several cash awards after winning the women’s individual golf gold at the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. The 23-year-old from Karnataka secured the individual title and a team silver, triggering payments from central and state bodies as well as private leagues.

Urs carded rounds of 66, 63, 66 and 70 to finish at 15-under 265, her final round including three birdies and a triple bogey as she ended a shot clear of the field. China’s Yin Ruoning took silver and Singapore’s Shannon Tan won bronze. Urs’s victory ended a 24-year wait for an individual Indian golf title at the Asian Games since Shiv Kapur’s 2002 Busan triumph. Alongside Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar, Urs also helped India to a team silver, the country finishing second at 14-under 546 while China claimed the team gold.

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports will award Urs ₹30 lakh under its revised cash-award scheme for her individual gold, and she is also set to receive a separate cash prize for the team silver, the report states.

The Indian Golf Premier League (IGPL) announced a ₹1 crore cash reward for Urs for her individual gold, an announcement made by Lok Sabha MP Anurag Thakur, and the IGPL also declared a ₹25 lakh cash prize for each member of the silver-winning team — Pranavi, Aditi and Diksha.

The Indian Golf Union (IGU) will present Urs with ₹10 lakh, according to IGU president Brijinder Singh, and the three golfers who won the team silver will receive ₹3 lakh each from the IGU.

The Karnataka government had announced a cash prize of ₹35 lakh for individual gold medallists, meaning Urs, who hails from Mysuru, will receive a state-level reward; the article also notes elsewhere that she will receive a ₹30 lakh Karnataka government reward.

Pranavi’s two medals at the Aichi-Nagoya Games will earn her significant cash prizes from the Indian government and private leagues, including the amounts announced by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, the Indian Golf Premier League, the Indian Golf Union and the Karnataka government.
