The 23-year-old hails from Mysore and has competed on the Ladies European Tour for the last three years, where she has logged eight top-10 finishes. Last November she became the first Indian woman to win a professional mixed-gender tournament when she won the IGPL in Mumbai.

Pranavi, Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar combined for a team total of 14-under 546 to secure the silver medal in the team event. China won the team gold while Taiwan took the bronze.
Speaking to The Hindu from Nagoya, Pranavi said: “ It’s amazing to win the gold medal and I am happy to be the first one to do it. I didn’t get the start I wanted, but I focused on what to do and took it shot by shot and it worked out according to my game plan.”
