Prasidh Krishna ruled out of New Zealand ODIs; Siraj added to India A for second four-day game
Prasidh Krishna was ruled out on Friday (October 30, 2026) from India’s five-match ODI series against New Zealand that begins on November 4, while Mohammed Siraj has been added to the India A squad for the second four-day game scheduled to start in Christchurch on Saturday (October 31, 2026).
Prasidh sustained a hamstring injury during the home ODI series against the West Indies and his selection for the New Zealand 50-over assignment had been conditional on fitness clearance. PTI reported on Wednesday (October 28, 2026) that he would not be fit in time for the upcoming series. The Board said Prasidh remains a candidate for the Tests and will be added to the India A squad for the third and final four-day game against New Zealand A beginning November 7 if he passes the required fitness checks.
"The right-arm pacer, who is recovering from the hamstring injury, will need additional time to build up the workload required to be ready for matches," a BCCI release stated. "Prasidh will join India A squad for the third and final four-day game against New Zealand A, subject to him clearing the Return to Play (RTP) assessment. This will give him an opportunity to gain match practice and prepare for the Test series," it added.
Mohammed Siraj, who is also named in India’s ODI group, will join India A for the four-day fixture beginning October 31 in Christchurch. Pace all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy will remain in the ODI squad for the first match against New Zealand. The board confirmed these squad movements as part of preparations for the tour.
Nitish Kumar Reddy is scheduled to link up with the India A squad for the third four-day game against New Zealand A in Lincoln. The BCCI said that this arrangement is intended to provide him match practice ahead of the two-match Test series against New Zealand, which starts on November 19. The third India A game is set to begin on November 7.
