Prasidh Krishna has been ruled out of India’s third and final One-Day International against the West Indies on October 3 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh after suffering a hamstring injury, according to a Cricbuzz report. The injury is expected to keep him out of the match and may extend beyond the series finale.

India lead the three-match series 2-0 after winning the opening two ODIs, giving them an unassailable advantage before the New Chandigarh game. The first match in Thiruvananthapuram was described as a comfortable victory for India, while the second in Guwahati was a high-scoring affair in which India completed their highest successful run chase in ODI cricket.

Cricbuzz reported that Krishna’s hamstring problem could rule him out of additional fixtures after the third ODI, but the precise nature and recovery timeline have not been disclosed. The Board of Control for Cricket in India has not named a replacement for the squad ahead of the final match.

Krishna’s involvement across the series was limited by workload in the second game, when he bowled five overs and returned figures of 1/45. In the first ODI he completed a full quota of 10 overs and finished with 2/60.

With Krishna unavailable, India must alter their bowling balance for the final match; Mohammed Siraj is mentioned as a possible inclusion, though the team has not confirmed any changes to the playing XI. Selection decisions for the third ODI, therefore, remain pending.

For the West Indies the New Chandigarh fixture represents a chance to halt the sweep after defeats in the opening two games; avoiding a 3-0 series whitewash is the visitors’ immediate objective in the final contest.

The third ODI remains scheduled for October 3 at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh, with India aiming to complete a 3-0 series win and the West Indies seeking to prevent a series whitewash.
