India fast bowler Prasidh Krishna has been ruled out of the third One-Day International of the bilateral series against the West Indies after being taken out of the second ODI in Guwahati midway through the match, India Today reported on October 1, 2026.

Conditions have been taxing for the fast bowlers in the ongoing ODI series. High humidity and bowling under the hot sun have made life difficult for the players. Fast bowlers have borne the brunt, with Shubman Gill's India bowling first in both matches.

Prasidh bowled his full quota of 10 overs in the first ODI and in the second match he delivered three overs and conceded 45 runs. He was removed from the attack during the Guwahati game.

India batting coach Sitanshu Kotak later informed the press that the pacer had picked up a niggle and would undergo scans on Thursday, October 1. Sources have told India Today that Prasidh has pulled his hamstring and has been ruled out of the final ODI of the series.

Injuries to fast bowlers have been a concern for the Indian camp in the last few months. Nitish Reddy was ruled out of action for a brief period recently, while Hardik Pandya has not played professional cricket since the Indian Premier League 2026.

The BCCI has not announced a replacement for Prasidh yet. In the absence of the pacer, Mohammed Siraj could slot in as a replacement option for the Indian team.
