Prithvi Shaw and Akriti Agarwal confirm split, call off engagement

Prithvi Shaw and Akriti Agarwal confirmed via social media that they have called off their engagement, around six months after the couple publicly announced it on March 8.
Akriti Agarwal shared the separation news on her official Instagram account, saying the decision was mutual and driven by differing goals and circumstances for their futures.
Shaw, 26, first drew attention in international cricket as the second-youngest Indian to score a Test century, making 134 off 154 on his Test debut against West Indies and earning the Player of the Match award.
After that debut he lost his place in the national side and, at state level, faced accusations of disciplinary issues; he also lost his place in the IPL and has been a frequent target of criticism in recent years.
The couple announced their engagement on March 8 with a social media post that included several photographs from the moment; one image showed Shaw proposing to Agarwal while kneeling.
Agarwal, 23, is a Lucknow-based actor and social media influencer who has worked in films including Trimukha and has over 3 million followers on Instagram.
Agarwal posted the following statement on Instagram: "With a heavy heart, I would like to share that my fiancé and I have decided to part ways due to different goals and circumstances for our future. As much as we love and care for each other, we’ve come to accept that our paths are not meant to be together. With our responsibilities and the circumstances we are currently facing, we have mutually decided to go our separate ways."
After their engagement there were rumours that the pair were unhappy, and in July Agarwal posted a cryptic message about cheating from Shaw’s side on social media that intensified speculation.
