PSG to wear two‑star crest only in Champions League, not in Ligue 1
Paris Saint-Germain will use a new club crest featuring two stars solely in UEFA Champions League matches and will wear a crest without stars in Ligue 1 and domestic cup fixtures, club insider La Source Parisienne said ahead of the new season.
Paris Saint-Germain unveiled an updated badge ahead of the new campaign that places two Eiffel Tower-shaped stars above the club logo to commemorate consecutive European victories. The club became only the second team in the UEFA Champions League era to win back-to-back titles and also clinched the Ligue 1 crown last season, prompting the special crest addition. The two stars are intended to represent PSG’s Champions League triumphs in 2025 and 2026.
La Source Parisienne reported that the star-studded crest will appear only on shirts worn in UEFA Champions League matches. For Ligue 1 fixtures and domestic cup games, PSG will reportedly use jerseys displaying the club crest without any stars.
Unverified online rumours suggested the move was linked to Ligue 1 regulations prohibiting crest modifications, but La Source Parisienne said the decision not to feature the two stars in the league was taken by the club itself rather than being imposed by the competition.

In Ligue 1, stars have been used both to mark Champions League victories and to denote domestic title milestones; St-Etienne display a star for their 10 league championships, Marseille added a star after their Champions League win in 1993, and PSG added a first star after their 2025 continental success and a second following their victory over Arsenal in the UCL final last season.
The club are reportedly looking forward to adding more Champions League titles to their trophy cabinet. They will therefore reserve the two-star crest for Champions League matches while using a starless badge in domestic competitions as part of a stated effort to keep league kits visually clean and concentrate on future successes.
