Punjab FC beat Odisha FC 2-1 in New Delhi in an ISL 2026-27 match on October 14, 2026, with Raphael Messi Bouli scoring inside the opening minute and again in the sixth minute of added time to secure the win.

Bouli opened the scoring seconds into the game after Muhammed Uvais delivered a cross and Bouli finished right-footed into the bottom-right corner; Odisha equalised fourteen minutes later when Lalthathanga Khawlhring’s corner found Thoiba Singh, who headed into the bottom-right to make it 1-1. The match remained scoreless thereafter until substitute Bishu Sharma set up Bouli for a left-footed finish into the bottom-left corner in the 96th minute, past five minutes signalled of added time.

Punjab outshot Odisha 14-7 overall, with the split by half showing four Punjab attempts before the interval and ten after; nine of Punjab’s 14 attempts came from inside the box compared with three of Odisha’s seven. Hrithik Tiwari made four saves for Odisha, and Punjab’s period of greatest pressure came between the 51st and 61st minutes when the hosts had five attempts, including Bouli wide of the left post and a Bijoy Varghese header from a Khaiminthang Lhungdim cross that drifted wide.

Crosses featured prominently for Punjab: four of their attempts arrived directly from wide deliveries, highlighted by Lhungdim’s deliveries to Varghese at the 30th and 61st minutes (both headers off target) and Planas’s cross to Bouli at 51'. Lhungdim also played the pass that led to Bishu Sharma’s 35-yard effort in the 73rd minute. Varghese, a defender, occupied two of the clearer aerial opportunities and failed to convert either.

Bouli accounted for four of Punjab’s 14 attempts and created two further chances — the nod-down to Alfred Planas at 53' and the pass that put Muhammed Uvais through at 86' — meaning six of Punjab’s 14 attempts involved him. Raposo was substituted at 68' and Planas at 82', leaving Bouli as Punjab’s only foreigner on the pitch; coach Dermitzakis finished the match with his attack built around Bouli and the decision produced the decisive goal.

Odisha’s seven attempts were unevenly distributed: three came in the first 18 minutes after the equaliser, then the team was quiet until Stephen Eze’s long-range attempt at 45+2', followed by Rahim Ali’s blocked shot at 63' and a renewed sequence beginning around the 80th minute. Only three of Odisha’s seven attempts were from inside the box, and each of their final three chances involved substitutes.

Lalrinfela Khiangte, introduced for Nandhakumar Sekar around the hour mark, supplied Mahmoud Eid’s 80th-minute shot that was saved by Arshdeep Singh and Nihal Sudheesh’s 90+5' effort which was also saved; Éverton Nascimento, brought on for Giorgi Aburjania, set up Suhair VP’s chance at 90+5' that went wide. Each late Odisha attempt came after a substitution, and the bench changes produced the team’s most threatening moments in the closing stages.
