Punjab FC sign Cameroonian forward Raphaël Messi Bouli ahead of 2026–27 ISL season
Punjab FC announced on August 22, 2026 that they have signed Cameroonian forward Raphaël Messi Bouli ahead of the 2026–27 Indian Super League season. The club said the centre-forward will join the Shers to strengthen their attacking options for the upcoming campaign.
Standing 1.86 metres (6 ft 1 in), Messi Bouli is described by the club as a player who combines physical strength, aerial authority and sharp penalty-box instincts and who can operate as an outright number nine or across the final third. Messi Bouli first made an impact in Indian football during the 2019–20 Indian Super League campaign with Kerala Blasters, when he scored eight goals. That season is specifically cited by the club as a notable chapter in his career in India.
Across his career in China Messi Bouli is reported to have scored over 40 goals during spells with Nanjing City, Yanbian Funde and Shijiazhuang Gongfu. The forward has also had periods in Iran with Foolad and has previously played in the Indian Super League for East Bengal FC and Jamshedpur FC.
