Punjab FC sign Mickaël Malsa ahead of 2026-27 ISL season

Mohali, September 29, 2026: Punjab FC have signed an agreement to bring French midfielder Mickaël Ramon Vincent Malsa to the club ahead of the 2026-27 Indian Super League season. The 30-year-old has been contracted to the club until May 31, 2027.

Born in Paris on October 12, 1995, Malsa came through the youth ranks at FC Sochaux-Montbéliard and began his senior career in Ligue 1. He has since compiled an extensive resume across Europe with spells at US Avranches in France, Royal Antwerp in Belgium and Fortuna Sittard in the Netherlands, plus a loan at Platanias in Greece. His career later took him to Spain, where he featured for several clubs, and to Morocco with Wydad AC.

In Spain, Malsa played for Albacete, Real Valladolid and CD Mirandés, returning to Mirandés earlier this year. He also spent a four-year period with Levante UD during which he made over 60 appearances in La Liga. Those La Liga appearances represent his longest continuous spell in Spain's top division.

Malsa had a stint with Wydad AC in Morocco and featured at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. He has also represented the Martinique national team in international football. These experiences form part of the breadth of his career across different leagues and competitions.

My aim is to bring my experience to the midfield, work hard for the team, and help us achieve big things together this season."

Punjab FC have described Malsa as a composed and defensively disciplined presence in the centre of the park, bringing European pedigree, tactical intelligence and defensive solidity to their engine room. He is an addition to the club's foreign contingent for ISL 2026-27, joining Alfred Planas, Raphael Messi Bouli, Patrick Bahanack and Diego Raposo.

Malsa is now part of Punjab FC's squad for the 2026-27 Indian Super League season and will be available to the club as they prepare for the campaign.
