Punjab FC v Odisha FC: ISL 2026-27 opener at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on 14th October — live on Sony, SonyLIV and YouTube
Punjab FC will begin their 2026-27 Indian Super League campaign against Odisha FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi on 14th October, with kick-off scheduled for 7:30 PM IST; the fixture is the season opener for both clubs.
Punjab will use the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium as their home venue and share it with SC Delhi, who lost their opening ISL match 3-2 to Bengaluru FC. Punjab arrived at the new league season after a productive pre-season that included participation in the 2026-27 IFA Shield alongside East Bengal FC and Mohun Bagan SG.
In the 2026-27 IFA Shield, Punjab reached the semi-finals and were eliminated by Mohun Bagan, losing 4-3 on penalties after a goalless draw. Punjab scored eight goals across three matches in the tournament; Rapahel Messi Bouli finished as joint top scorer with three goals and Diego Raposo produced a 41st-minute winner in a 1-0 victory over East Bengal FC.
Odisha FC did not take part in any pre-season tournament or friendly ahead of the 2026-27 ISL season. The Kalinga Warriors added 12 players during the summer transfer window and extended the contracts of four existing players as part of a sizeable squad overhaul.
The club retained Indian head coach T G Purushothaman for the 2026-27 campaign and signed Hrithik Tiwari, the 2025-26 Golden Glove winner. Odisha endured a difficult 2025-26 ISL season, recording two wins, five draws and six losses from 13 matches to finish on 11 points and in 12th place.
Broadcast arrangements for the match are confirmed: live coverage will be available on Sony Sports Network, Sony Ten 2 and Sony Ten 2 HD, with free digital streaming on YouTube and matches carried on SonyLIV. SonyLIV will stream all 163 matches in India, and the broadcasters will provide commentary in English, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil and Bengali, with Malayalam coverage for Kerala Blasters matches, Tamil for Chennaiyin FC games, and Bengali for East Bengal FC and Mohun Bagan Super Giant fixtures.
