PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen head India's charge on day three of the BWF World Championships in New Delhi on Wednesday. Both are scheduled for round-of-32 matches on Court 1, with Sindhu due to face Canada's Wen Yu Zhang at around 6.10 pm and Sen set to meet USA's Garret Tan at around 4.30 pm.

The 30th edition of the world championships is under way at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, running from August 17 to 23, and features 64 women and 64 men in the singles events plus 48 pairs across the three doubles categories. India is hosting the tournament for the first time since 2009 and has multiple players in action on Wednesday, including Lakshya Sen, PV Sindhu, Ayush Shetty, Unnati Hooda, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty, and the mixed pair Dhruv Kapila-Tanisha Crasto.

Fifteenth-seeded Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto, who received a first-round bye, will begin their campaign in the mixed doubles round of 32 against Leong Iok Chong and Ng Weng Chi of Macao, China at around 10.40 am on Court 1. They are India's sole remaining mixed doubles entry after Rohan Kapoor and Ruthvika Shivani Gadde were beaten 22-20, 19-21, 17-21 by Canada's Jonathan Bing Tsan Lai and Crystal Lai, and Ashith Surya and Amrutha Pramuthesh lost 21-16, 29-30, 22-24 to Turkey's Emre Sonmez and Yasemen Bektas on Day 2.

Lakshya Sen progressed to the round of 32 by overcoming Collins Valentine Filimon of Bulgaria in three games on Tuesday, losing the first 16-21 before winning 21-8, 21-4 in a match that lasted 45 minutes. Sen's next opponent, USA's Garret Tan, reached this stage after a 21-4, 21-15 victory over Switzerland's Tobias Kuenzi; their meeting is scheduled for around 4.30 pm on Court 1.

Ninth-seeded PV Sindhu will take the court in the women's singles round of 32 against Canada's Wen Yu Zhang at about 6.10 pm on Court 1. Unnati Hooda is also in women's singles action on Wednesday, set to play 13th seed Michelle Li earlier on Court 3, and Ayush Shetty is listed among the Indian singles players competing that day.

Wednesday also marks the start of the campaigns for Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty in the doubles draw and for Kapila-Crasto in mixed doubles. With the tournament staged at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, Indian players will have home support as they aim to progress.

Winners from Wednesday's round-of-32 matches will advance to the last 16 as the world championships continue through August 23.
