Racing Santander v Real Madrid: confirmed lineups and pre-match updates for LaLiga round 11

Racing Santander will face Real Madrid in round 11 of the LaLiga 2026-27 season, in a pre-match preview published on 1 November 2026. Confirmed starting lineups and other pre-match updates have been released ahead of the fixture.

This season’s newly promoted Racing beat Espanyol 2-1 in their last outing; that result led to the sacking of Manolo Gonzalez. In 10 LaLiga matches Racing have won three, drawn two and lost five. The club’s record against Real Madrid is described as not that good, though they will be hopeful of causing an upset after earlier heavy defeats when tactically outclassed by FC Barcelona and Celta Vigo.

Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid beat FC Barcelona 1-2 at Camp Nou, a victory the preview calls really important and one that leaves Los Blancos three points behind their rival. The report states that, despite being dominated by Barcelona, Madrid played in a typical Mourinho style and made things difficult for the home team. The piece adds that Madrid travel to Racing away from home and, while the trip should not be difficult, the side cannot afford complacency.

The preview highlights Racing’s young Moroccan international Zabiri, who joined on loan from French club Rennes for the season. Fans are enjoying his performances; across 10 LaLiga matches he has scored eight goals and picked up four yellow cards. The article notes those cautions suggest he needs to work on his discipline and describes Zabiri as a significant threat to Madrid’s defence.

Real Madrid’s French forward Mbappe is mentioned as having finished second in the recent Ballon d’Or, losing to Harry Kane by a very small margin. The report records that he scored twice in the El Clasico to help his side to the 1-2 win and that he has 11 goals this season, making him the second-highest goalscorer in the league. It adds that Mbappe suits Mourinho’s style and will be confident to score more in upcoming clashes.
