Rafael Nadal to return for Las Vegas exhibition at T-Mobile Arena on February 27, 2027

Rafael Nadal will return to the United States to play an exhibition match in Las Vegas on February 27, 2027, headlining The MGM Slam presented by Capital One at T-Mobile Arena, organisers announced on Monday. It will be his first appearance in the United States since retiring from professional tennis in November 2024.
Nadal ended his professional career with 22 Grand Slam singles titles, including a record 14 French Open crowns. He last appeared in Las Vegas in March 2024 when he faced compatriot Carlos Alcaraz in an exhibition at the same venue; that contest sold out and was streamed worldwide on Netflix. Since retiring he stepped away from the tour but recently returned to the court to mark the 10th anniversary of his tennis academy in Manacor, Mallorca.
Nadal said he remembered the atmosphere at T-Mobile Arena from his previous visit and was looking forward to returning without the demands of the professional tour. "I remember how impressive it was to feel the energy of a full arena in a city like Las Vegas," Nadal said. "After that match in 2024, now I return in a different stage of my life, without the pressure of the tour but with the same passion for this sport. I have always loved competing, and even if my professional career is finished, that feeling never really goes away."
He thanked the event sponsors for the invitation and framed the match as an opportunity to play for long-time supporters. "Being on court again at T-Mobile Arena, against one of today's top players, is a beautiful opportunity to enjoy tennis and give something back to the fans who supported me for so many years," he said. "I hope everyone who comes has a great time, and I will do my best to give them a night to remember."
Organisers have not yet confirmed Nadal's opponent, the remainder of the playing field or the format for the 2027 event; they said more details are expected in the coming weeks. Nadal's March 2024 meeting with Alcaraz at the Netflix Slam occurred during what became his final season on the professional tour and was described as bringing together two generations of Spanish tennis, with Alcaraz having emerged as one of the leading players in the men's game.
Nadal struggled with injuries toward the end of his career and played only a limited number of tournaments in his final seasons. He announced his retirement in October 2024 and made his last competitive appearance for Spain at the Davis Cup Finals in Malaga the following month; his career also included four US Open crowns, two Wimbledon titles, two Australian Open trophies, singles gold at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and doubles gold at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Nadal is scheduled to play at The MGM Slam presented by Capital One at T-Mobile Arena on February 27, 2027, giving fans another chance to see him in the United States after his retirement. Organisers said they will release further information on opponents, additional players and the event format in the coming weeks.
