Ramesh Powar joins Australia under-19 squad to work with spinners

Former India off-spinner Ramesh Powar joined the Australia under-19 squad in Rajkot on Sunday to work with the team’s spin bowlers and will remain with the side for four days, including Wednesday’s final youth ODI against India.
“The Australian team management approached me quite a few months back to come and spend some time with the young spinners and guide them, so I decided to spend four days with them,” Powar told The Hindu. “It’s a one-off gig, and just a short one to guide the young bowlers,” he said. Powar has previously served as India’s women’s head coach.
Powar’s involvement with the touring staff is short-term and advisory, focused on the development of the young spin bowlers in the Australian u-19 setup, the player said in his remarks to The Hindu.
Powar is a former India off-spinner and brings experience from his playing and coaching career to the assignment with the Australian youngsters.
He is also tipped to become the next chairman of the National junior selection committee, according to the report.
