Rams rally late to beat Eagles; Chiefs edge Raiders as Tyquan Thornton is carted off

On Oct. 4, 2026, Kyren Williams scored twice in the final four minutes to lift the Los Angeles Rams past the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Kansas City Chiefs edged the Las Vegas Raiders 23-19 at Allegiant Stadium in NFL Sunday action. The Chiefs’ go-ahead score followed a 55-yard reception by Tyquan Thornton, who suffered a serious injury on the play and was carted off the field.
The Rams had struggled offensively for much of the afternoon but were revived when Eagles coach Nick Sirianni chose to go for it on fourth down instead of attempting a short field goal, a decision that failed to convert and handed Los Angeles new life. Matthew Stafford engineered touchdown drives of 98 and 79 yards, and Kyren Williams finished the rally with a seven-yard go-ahead touchdown. The result left both the Rams and Eagles with 2-2 records.
Patrick Mahomes remained unbeaten at Allegiant Stadium, finishing with 225 passing yards and two touchdowns as the Chiefs held on 23-19. Kenneth Walker III rushed for 177 yards and two touchdowns, his two-yard run with 3:21 remaining giving Kansas City the lead for good after Tyquan Thornton’s 55-yard reception on the previous play. Kirk Cousins threw for 365 yards and two touchdowns for the Raiders, who fell to 3-1 after Cousins was intercepted in the final minute; the Chiefs improved to 4-0.
Drake Maye completed 22 of 37 passes for 269 yards and three touchdowns to steer the New England Patriots to victory over Buffalo, his late touchdown to Efton Chism III and a two-point conversion to Rhamondre Stevenson producing a 29-26 lead with 1:50 remaining. Chism’s leaping, one-handed 23-yard TD preceded Craig Woodson’s interception of Josh Allen at the New England 19-yard line on the ensuing possession, allowing the Patriots (2-2) to run out the clock and hand Buffalo (3-1) its first loss in its new stadium.
Brock Purdy threw two touchdown passes and Christian McCaffrey ran for a score as the San Francisco 49ers beat the Denver Broncos, taking advantage of a fumbled punt return by Marvin Mims Jr to set up a short third-quarter touchdown drive that gave the 49ers the lead for good. Both offenses struggled to generate much on a hot day in the Bay Area, leaving the Broncos at 2-2. In Dallas, CeeDee Lamb posted a career-high 17 catches for 189 yards and his 12-yard touchdown with 40 seconds left completed an 11-play, 74-yard drive by Dak Prescott — capped after a fourth-down conversion — to lift the Cowboys to a win and keep the Texans winless.
Lamar Jackson threw for 222 yards and two touchdowns on 15-of-20 passing but exited early in Baltimore’s 24-18 victory over Tennessee; the Ravens (3-1) snapped a four-game losing streak in their home stadium but were held scoreless in the second half without Jackson, who did not play after his exit. Jackson was sacked on Baltimore’s final play of the second quarter by Jermaine Johnson II, who landed on Jackson’s left ankle, and Jackson left the stadium in a protective boot after the game. “He was just dealing with a little bit of an ankle,” the Ravens head coach, Jesse Minter, said. “I don’t know enough about it right now, but we’ll have to see where that’s at.”
Emanuel Wilson both caught a touchdown pass and ran for another as the Seattle Seahawks defeated the Los Angeles Chargers, handing Los Angeles its fourth straight loss to start the season; Sam Darnold threw for 168 yards and two touchdowns for the defending Super Bowl champions, who improved to 3-1 after rebounding from last week’s 33-31 loss to Washington. Justin Herbert finished with 189 passing yards, one touchdown and two interceptions for the 0-4 Chargers.
Jameis Winston threw three touchdown passes — to Malachi Fields, Malik Nabers and Theo Johnson — and Deonte Banks returned an interception for a touchdown in the final seconds as the New York Giants defeated the Arizona Cardinals, moving New York to 3-1 while Arizona fell to 1-3. Kyle Monangai rushed for 146 yards and two touchdowns as the Chicago Bears beat the New York Jets 23-12; Devin Bush, Austin Booker and Dayo Odeyingbo each had a sack as Chicago limited New York to seven first downs and 157 yards, with Tyson Bagent passing for 268 yards and Cairo Santos kicking three field goals. Minkah Fitzpatrick ended New York’s NFL-record interception drought at 20 games, but the Jets (1-3) lost their third straight.
TJ Hockenson had 13 receptions for 119 yards as the Minnesota Vikings held on for a close win over the Miami Dolphins, Kyler Murray completing 27 of 37 passes for 247 yards for a Minnesota team that is now 4-0 for the 11th time in franchise history. Aaron Jones Sr finished with 128 all-purpose yards (94 rushing, 34 receiving) and Will Reichard kicked five field goals; Ollie Gordon II had nine carries for 100 yards and a touchdown for Miami (0-4), and Malik Willis completed nine of 17 passes for 85 yards and lost a fumble. Trevor Lawrence passed for 227 yards and a touchdown while Jacksonville’s defense forced two turnovers to hold off Cincinnati; Joe Burrow threw for 428 yards for the Bengals (2-2), lost All-Pro receiver Ja’Marr Chase to a second-quarter concussion, and saw Tee Higgins finish with 11 catches for 151 yards. Burrow completed 39 of 54 passes and had two interceptions, one converted into a touchdown and the other occurring when the Bengals were in the red zone, and Cincinnati’s final drive ended when Chase Brown was stopped short on fourth down; Higgins also suffered an adductor injury near the end and could join Chase on the sidelines.
Jordan Love threw two touchdown passes and the Green Bay defense forced two interceptions in a win over Tampa Bay, Love completing 22 of 30 for 197 yards while Tucker Kraft had six catches for 42 yards and a score as the Packers moved to 2-2 and 2-0 on the road. Rookie Jalon Daniels, making his first career start for Tampa Bay, completed 19 of 27 passes for 148 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 55 yards while playing in place of the injured Baker Mayfield, as the Buccaneers fell to 0-4. In London, Jonathan Taylor rushed for two touchdowns and Colts quarterback Daniel Jones ran one in as Indianapolis beat Washington after the Commanders lost another quarterback to injury; Marcus Mariota, replacing the injured Jayden Daniels, left after Washington’s second drive with a knee issue and third-string rookie Athan Kaliakmanis was summoned. Taylor finished with 95 yards on 20 carries as the Colts overcame two turnovers from Jones, who completed 19 of 34 for 134 yards with an interception and a fumble.
After Sunday’s results, Kansas City remains unbeaten at 4-0 and Minnesota is also 4-0, while a group of teams including the Raiders, Ravens, Seahawks and Giants sit at 3-1; Miami, Tampa Bay, Tennessee and the Chargers all dropped to 0-4.
