Rangers beat St Johnstone 4-0 at Ibrox and Dundee United edged Aberdeen 3-2 at Tannadice in Scottish Premiership action on 24 October 2026.

Derek McInnes had urged his Rangers side to be “brilliant” against St Johnstone and, after the Light Blues dropped two points at Dundee last Saturday, they dominated the first half but led only by Venezuela forward Kevin Kelsy's 29th-minute strike at the interval.

Saints began the second half positively but Rangers pulled clear after Ryan Naderi scored in the 61st minute and Kelsy struck again five minutes later; Saints substitute Kai Fotheringham was shown a straight red card by referee Chris Graham in the 74th minute for a high challenge on Nico Raskin, and substitute Tochi Chukwuani added a fourth for Rangers with three minutes remaining.

McInnes said: “It's quite ironic in the sense that we were so good and so brilliant at times in the first half and create so many opportunities, that we were only a goal to the good at half-time. And obviously, we don't want to let the frustration of those missed opportunities and dominance filter into the second half. “I think half-time came at a bad time for us because, despite the conditions, some of the play was really good. I asked the players to be brilliant today, not just win the game, can we really commit to being the best we can be, as good as we can be? And I thought we were in the first half. Everything was brilliant except the result at half-time because we should have been more in in front.”

At Tannadice, Zidane Iqbal opened the scoring for Dundee United before Nesta Guinness-Walker equalised for Aberdeen, with both players recording their first goals for their clubs; United went back in front through Dylan Tait, Connor Ronan levelled after the break for Aberdeen, and Zac Sapsford secured the 3-2 victory that moved United to fourth, one point behind Hearts, while Aberdeen dropped to ninth.

Falkirk climbed to seventh with a 3-0 win over Kilmarnock that featured two own goals from centre-backs Cathal McCarthy and George Stanger either side of a Jacob Murrell header.

St Mirren ended a run of defeats with a 2-1 victory over Dundee, Calvin Ramsay and Eseosa Sule scoring for St Mirren before Bradley Fink pulled one back for the visitors.

Celtic can restore their four-point advantage when they travel to Hibernian, the bottom side, at noon GMT on Sunday.
