Ranji Trophy: Tripura 134 all out; Hyderabad 121/4 at stumps in Elite opener

Tripura were dismissed for 134 by Hyderabad in a Ranji Trophy Elite match at the Gymkhana Ground in Hyderabad on Sunday, October 11, 2026, and Hyderabad closed the first day on 121 for four.
On the eve of the season opener, Tripura head coach Satrajit Lahiri had said the side was eager to shed the ‘underdog’ tag, and the visitors initially matched that intent by standing firm against Mohammed Siraj on a freshly laid red-soil pitch through the early sessions until drinks on day one.
Tanay Thyagarajann produced a crucial burst for Hyderabad, removing Hrituraj Ghosh Roy (33) with Rahul Radesh taking the catch at short fine, then returning in his next over to dismiss Sridam Paul and Hanuma Vihari for ducks.
Opener Bikramkumar Das ground his way to a half-century off 102 balls, but Tripura collapsed thereafter; Aniketh Reddy trapped Mandeep Singh lbw and then dismissed Sentu Sarkar two balls later, while debutant Ruthik Yadav accounted for Bikramkumar. In just 28 balls, with a mere four runs added, Tripura lost six wickets and became the first team to be bowled out this Ranji season, Aniketh finishing with a five-wicket haul.
Hyderabad’s selection gamble of two pacers and three spinners proved effective, with the spin trio taking nine wickets between them. Hyderabad’s bowling figures read: Siraj 9-2-25-0, Milind 9-1-12-0, Ruthik 8-0-17-1, Tanay 11-2-37-3, Aniketh 7-1-21-5.
In reply, openers Tanmay Agarwal and Abhirath Reddy put on 60 in 18 overs, Tanmay unbeaten on 48 and Abhirath dismissed for 32 by Sandip Sarkar’s off-spin. Sandip then removed Rahul Singh and Pragnay Reddy in consecutive balls and later had K. Himateja caught by Sentu Sarkar, finishing with figures of 18-2-44-4 as Hyderabad reached 121 for four in 41 overs.
Hyderabad trailed Tripura by 13 runs at stumps.
