Raphinha hat-trick keeps Barcelona perfect in LaLiga with 3-1 win at Sevilla
Barcelona beat Sevilla 3-1 in LaLiga at Sevilla on September 19, 2026, with captain Raphinha scoring a hat-trick to maintain the club's perfect start to the season. The victory was Barcelona's seventh successive league win.
Raphinha continued a prolific opening to the campaign as Barcelona overcame a difficult match in Andalusia. Sevilla's early pressing disrupted Barcelona and goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos produced a brilliant save to deny Lamine Yamal in a tentative start to the game.
Sevilla took the lead in the 18th minute when Felix Correia clipped a cross from the left and Youssouf Fofana headed past Dominik Livakovic, who was deputising for the injured Joan Garcia. Raphinha levelled four minutes later, running onto Andreas Christensen's pass and calmly beating Vlachodimos.
Sevilla stayed on the front foot and nearly regained the lead before halftime when an inspired Fofana backheel released Correia, only for Rodri to make a goal-saving tackle. Barcelona had struggled to create chances while the hosts applied pressure.
Raphinha put Barcelona ahead in the 52nd minute with a header following good footwork from Lamine Yamal in the box, and his corner soon after struck the post. He completed his hat-trick in the 69th minute, racing behind the Sevilla defence to finish another Lamine assist for his 12th league goal in seven matches.
As the match wound down Barcelona controlled possession and threatened a fourth goal as Sevilla's challenge faded. Christensen's second-half injury was a concern for Hansi Flick, and Flick will have been encouraged by the way his side reacted with poise after falling behind and by their ability to find a way through once Sevilla's pressing had frustrated them in the first half.
Earlier on Saturday, Osasuna drew 1-1 with Rayo Vallecano, Athletic Club and Alaves played out a goalless draw, and Celta Vigo secured their first triumph of the season with a 5-0 win over Racing Santander.
Barcelona moved provisionally six points clear of second-placed Real Madrid, who have a game in hand and play Atletico Madrid on Sunday, September 20, 2026.
