Real Betis vs Barcelona: LaLiga matchweek nine preview at Estadio La Cartuja on October 17

Real Betis Balompie will host FC Barcelona in a LaLiga 2026-27 matchweek nine fixture at the Estadio La Cartuja on October 17, with Barcelona arriving as the defending league champions.

Manuel Pellegrini’s Real Betis have produced strong performances this season and will rely on home advantage after a recent victory over Real Madrid, while Hansi Flick’s Barcelona have been consistent across competitions, including a 4-1 Champions League win over Galatasaray and a dominant LaLiga display against Getafe that leaves them sitting at the top of the points table.

Real Betis will look to Isco for creativity and attacking impetus; in the recent Champions League outing against FC Porto he created the most chances (4), completed the most dribbles (3) and was one of the goalscorers for El Glorioso.

Barcelona will lean on Lamine Yamal in the final third: the 19-year-old provided two assists in the win over Galatasaray, did not score in that match, and has seven goals and five assists in eight LaLiga matches this season.

Availability concerns affect both squads. Real Betis will not have Junior Firpo due to injury while Aitor Ruibal is back in training. FC Barcelona will be without Roony Badghji and Andreas Christensen because of injuries, and Raphinha and Frenkie de Jong are back in training but not yet confirmed for selection.

Khel Now’s expected lineups list Valles (GK); Bellerin, Llorente, Natan, Garcia; Roca, Fornals; Antony, Isco, Ezzalzouli; Hernandez for Real Betis, and Joan Garcia (GK); Kounde, Eric Garcia, Martin, Espart; Rodri, Pedri; Yamal, Olmo, Gordon; Jesus for FC Barcelona.
