Report: Bayley may have quietly re-signed with WWE

Bayley may have quietly re-signed with WWE, a possibility raised by Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Radio on August 26, 2026, after the August 24 episode of Monday Night RAW again referenced the former champion. That RAW segment included Lyra Valkyria in a backstage exchange with Sol Ruca and IYO SKY.
Weeks of uncertainty around Bayley’s contract and a possible departure have produced varied reporting; Meltzer and Alvarez discussed the re-signing possibility on Wrestling Observer Radio while WWE and Bayley have not issued public confirmation. Earlier in the month Meltzer had reported that Bayley had not signed a new contract, a detail that the latest conversation appeared to contrast.
On the August 24 Monday Night RAW backstage segment, Valkyria attempted to persuade Sol Ruca to relinquish an upcoming opportunity at the Women’s Intercontinental Championship; Ruca responded that Valkyria should earn her own chance and Valkyria countered that Bayley had spoken to her in a similar way. That exchange was cited as one reason the discussion about Bayley’s status gained traction.
Meltzer told Wrestling Observer Radio he believed WWE would have little incentive to reference Bayley repeatedly on television if the company knew she was definitely leaving, a line of reasoning offered to explain the recent mentions. That stance was described as a shift from Meltzer’s earlier reporting that she had not re-signed.
Alvarez has also reported that people within AEW believed Bayley’s WWE contract could potentially run through January 2027 if WWE does not add additional time to the deal, though there has never been a publicly confirmed expiration date for the contract. The lack of a confirmed end date has been a recurring point in coverage of Bayley’s future.
The Role Model has remained active in WWE-related interactions, seeking a conversation with General Manager Adam Pearce and exchanging words with Blake Monroe, who challenged her to appear on SmackDown; those exchanges and the continued television references have amplified fan discussion around her status. Despite the attention, WWE and Bayley have not publicly confirmed a new agreement.
If Bayley has reached a new agreement with WWE, the immediate question will be when the company brings her back to television and what direction awaits the former champion.
