Report: Naughty Dog developing a new Uncharted game that will include Nathan Drake

Naughty Dog is reportedly working on an original Uncharted title that will include Nathan Drake in some form, according to a report published on October 2, 2026. The claim was made by MP1ST and circulated by Khel Now.

MP1ST’s report states the project is a brand-new entry rather than a remake or remaster, and names Shaun Escayg as the director. The report also specifies that Nathan Drake will appear “in some form,” while stopping short of identifying whether he will serve as protagonist, a supporting character, or a cameo.

Shaun Escayg is credited in the report as the lead on the project; he previously directed Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and has worked as a lead cinematic animator on several Naughty Dog titles. The report places him at the head of the team developing the new Uncharted game.

The Uncharted continuity is noted in the report: at the epilogue of Uncharted 4, Nathan Drake is shown retired and settled with his wife Elena Fisher, and the couple’s daughter Cassie Drake appears in that ending. Those story details are cited as context for speculation about future protagonists.

Fan discussion referenced in the report has suggested Cassie Drake or Nathan’s older brother Sam as potential leads for a new entry. The article adds that Cassie was portrayed by Catlyn Denver in Uncharted 4 and that Denver recently played Abby in The Last of Us television series.

The report also covers Naughty Dog’s current project slate, noting the studio has announced two Last of Us projects and plans a full reveal of Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet in 2027. According to the same source, Naughty Dog’s immediate focus is on the Intergalactic title.

Naughty Dog has not officially confirmed the new Uncharted project and no release window has been announced; the report warns the title may not arrive before 2030 and could take longer as the studio concentrates on Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, whose full reveal is scheduled for 2027.
