Rockstar Games has announced a GTA 6 Extended Look that will stream on Netflix on August 27, 2026, and later appear on YouTube, and industry reporting says the studio is emphasising the single-player campaign rather than publicly discussing GTA Online during the current marketing cycle.

Fans and players have been eager for details on both the story campaign and the online component, but industry journalist Jason Schreier reports Rockstar is currently focused on the single-player experience. Schreier says the studio plans to highlight the game’s narrative, world, characters and gameplay mechanics and has no plans to talk about GTA Online as part of this marketing cycle. According to the reporting, the online element is expected to get its own marketing campaign closer to launch or after the game’s release.

The report also indicates GTA 6 Online has been delayed internally while support for GTA 5Online will continue for an unspecified period. That approach would follow Rockstar’s previous practice of offering multiplayer as a standalone, separate experience to the base game. The coverage notes GTA Online became one of the most successful live-service games in history following the launch of GTA V.

Sources cited in the report say a separate marketing push for the successor’s online mode would give Rockstar more time to reveal features, the gameplay system and long-term plans without drawing attention away from the GTA 6 story campaign. If those reports are accurate, the Extended Look on August 27, 2026, may omit GTA Online details and concentrate on the single-player elements: story campaign, gameplay, narrative, open world, graphics and visuals.

Reports add the single-player campaign is not expected to include microtransactions, though Rockstar has not officially confirmed that detail. Media coverage has also claimed Netflix reportedly paid close to $100 million for the GTA 6 Extended Look.

The Extended Look is scheduled to stream on Netflix on August 27, 2026, and will later be posted on YouTube; according to the reporting cited, any detailed reveal of GTA Online is likely to be reserved for a separate marketing effort timed nearer to or after the game’s launch.
