During the second One-Day International in Wellington, Rohit Sharma set a new record for the most sixes hit against New Zealand in ODIs, breaking Shahid Afridi’s mark with two sixes off Kyle Jamieson.
Rain interrupted play, but India prevailed by four runs under the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method.
Sharma’s contribution anchored the innings and helped give India a 2-0 lead in the five-match series.
