Roman Reigns retained the World Heavyweight Championship and a new Women’s World Champion was crowned at WWE Money in the Bank on October 10, 2026, at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Premium Live Event featured men’s and women’s Money in the Bank ladder matches, a World Heavyweight title defence involving LA Knight, and multiple high-profile singles contests.

WWE billed the show as its return to the Premium Live Event calendar after SummerSlam and the first Money in the Bank to be held in October. Promotion for the event included the message: "In @WWE, an opportunity always presents itself. You just have to take it. #MITB is LIVE tomorrow night from New Orleans, LA. Watch on the @espn app in the US / @netflix internationally. pic.twitter.com/OGPoLafI5h" The Reigns–LA Knight programme intensified during WWE’s Mexico City edition when Knight interrupted and delivered a BFT to interrupt a celebration, prompting Reigns to accept Knight’s challenge for Money in the Bank. The matchup was presented as a contrast of Reigns’s methodical, physical style and Knight’s explosive offence and crowd-driven approach.

The men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match listed Bron Breakker, Je’Von Evans, Trick Williams, Penta, CM Punk and Kevin Owens as participants. WWE described the six-man field as a mix of established main-event performers and younger stars seeking a breakthrough. The prize for the winner was a contract guaranteeing a championship opportunity at a time of their choosing within the following year.

The women’s ladder match featured Sol Ruca, Lola Vice, Jacy Jayne, Roxanne Perez, Lash Legend and Tiffany Stratton. The preview noted Ruca’s athleticism, Vice’s combat-sports background, Jacy Jayne and Roxanne Perez’s experience in high-pressure situations, Lash Legend’s physical strength and Stratton’s status as a former champion. Although many see Roxanne Perez as a worthy winner, the promotion described the women’s contest as one of the most unpredictable matches on the card.

A singles clash between Oba Femi and Bronson Reed was added after Reed returned and targeted Femi during Femi’s confrontation with Bron Breakker. WWE presented the pairing as a test of power, with Femi’s strength and explosive offence set to meet Reed’s size, experience and trademark Tsunami.

The Women’s World Championship was defended in a Triple Threat Match with Stephanie Vaquer versus Becky Lynch and Liv Morgan. That bout was booked after Lynch and Morgan’s No. 1 contender match ended in disqualification and Vaquer became involved following interference from Judgment Day’s Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez; Vaquer then demanded both Lynch and Morgan be added and WWE made the Triple Threat official.

With two Money in the Bank briefcases on the line, two championship matches and the heavyweight singles encounter, WWE assembled a card aimed at producing major moments in New Orleans. The promotion framed the key storyline question as whether Roman Reigns would leave with his championship or LA Knight could capture the world title, a result the preview said could significantly alter WWE’s main-event picture heading into the final months of 2026.
