Il Resto del Carlino reports Ronaldinho is likely to make his official Serie C debut for Ravenna in the home derby against Forli FC on Sunday, November 15. The 46-year-old drew attention in June when he reversed his retirement to sign for the Italian third-division side.

He last featured in professional football on September 24, 2015, for Fluminense against Santos and officially announced his retirement in 2018. The move to Ravenna was influenced by his close relationship with the club president, Ignazio Cipriani. After the transfer was confirmed, Ronaldinho said, "New colours, same smile." He added, "I cannot wait to dance with the ball and write a beautiful new story with Ignazio Cipriani and the Cipriani family." He also said, "Football has always been joyful for me, and I’m excited to bring that spirit to Ravenna. Let the magic begin!"

Having not played professional football for more than a decade, Ronaldinho is taking time to return to full match fitness and has yet to be declared ready to make his official debut. It is not known whether he will start the match or come on from the bench, though the latter option looks more likely given his long absence. The Il Resto del Carlino report made no firm selection claim beyond the likely date for his first appearance.

Ravenna sit second in their Serie C group with 17 points from eight matches. Ronaldinho signed for the club during the summer transfer window. The club will be able to call on his experience as they pursue results in the division.

His career includes spells with Paris Saint-Germain, FC Barcelona, and AC Milan. He won the Ballon d’Or in 2005 and was part of Brazil’s squad that won the 2002 FIFA World Cup.

According to the report, the earliest opportunity for Ronaldinho to make his Ravenna debut is the home derby with Forli FC on Sunday, November 15, and it remains uncertain whether he will be named in the starting lineup or introduced as a substitute.
