Ruby Tui has signed for Trailfinders Women, BBC Sport reported on 19 August 2026. The 34-year-old has agreed a one-year deal with last season's Premiership Women's Rugby finalists.

Tui has been a major figure for New Zealand in both sevens and the 15-a-side game. In the 15-a-side game, she was a key part of the New Zealand side that beat England 34-31 in the 2021 World Cup final. As well as being a Rugby World Cup winner in 2021, she has Olympic gold and silver medals from the sevens game. She was also named World Rugby's women's sevens player of the year in 2019.

Trailfinders head coach Barney Maddison told the club's website, external: "Ruby is one of the most respected figures in the women's game," "Her experience of winning at the very highest level, combined with the energy and leadership she brings off the pitch, will be an enormous asset to the squad as we push on from last season."

"I feel like I've seen a lot of women's rugby and it's the biggest and best women's comp in the world right now," Tui added. "The whole Trailfinders team have been so welcoming since I got here and watching them all last season had me fizzed about how they're playing game."
