Sanya Vats loses to Sarah Cardwell in Ballarat Open final

Sanya Vats finished runner-up at the Ballarat Open in Victoria, Australia, a USD 3000 PSA Challenger event, on Sunday. The Delhi player was beaten in the women's final.

In the quarterfinals Vats defeated South Korean Sunghee Oh 6-11, 11-9, 12-10, 11-4.

She followed that with a straight-games victory over South Korea's Ain Jun in the semifinals, winning 11-5, 11-8, 11-4.

Vats went down 6-11, 8-11, 6-11 to top seed and local favourite Sarah Cardwell in the women's final.

Sarah Cardwell claimed the women's title at the Ballarat Open.
